Gemma & Mitchell Exchange Vows at the Jondaryan Woolshed.

When considering an outback destination wedding on the Darling Downs, you can’t go past the iconic Jondaryan Woolshed.

“The Jondaryan Woolshed is proud to be one of the oldest and largest woolsheds in Australia. A stately monument, it celebrates the rich, cultural and pastoral history of the Darling Downs region.” The Woolshed.

The Woolshed boasts a picturesque, rugged landscape providing a backdrop of sweeping views perfect for a country wedding.

It was an easy destination selection for New Zealander, Gemma and her Aussie groom Mitchell. The simplistic, intimate nature of the venue complimented their soft, easy going personalities.

After meeting in Darwin, their romance began. Two beautiful little ones later the couple selected their venue and set the date.

The heritage-listed woolshed, with its rustic charm and spectacular chandeliers, popped with hints of Gemma’s favourite colour purple.

Although the countryside was muddy, from much needed rain which poured up until the ceremony, there was a beautiful sunset.

Celebrant Collette Rooney led the ceremony, starting with honouring much loved absent friends and family.

It was wonderful to see so many close family travel from all over, particularly from New Zealand, to witness the couple’s commitment to each other.

After the ceremony we headed outside and had a beautiful, fun afternoon snapping up some memorable moments with the bridal party.

We roamed around the museum capturing some wonderful connections with a unique backdrop featuring 160 years of rural heritage.
